Come and celebrate with us the joy of singing, the joy of music-making and the joy of coming together to immerse ourselves in all that is wonderful about the English Choral Tradition. You will have a special chance to sing with Southern Voices under Jamal Sutton, who will coach us in some favourite joyous pieces, both secular and sacred, which will be crafted into a performance to be proud of.

Southern Voices is excited to announce our Choral Scholarship programme. This is an opportunity for young singers to sing with us, all expenses paid, during the academic year 2024- 25.
We are looking to introduce one choral scholar into each of our voice parts (SATB). Suitable candidates will be auditioned in August 2024, with the scholarship starting in September 2024, although this could be adapted for the circumstances of the individual.
Gala Concert - Vivaldi and Bach

Southern Voices is thrilled to be celebrating 40 years in 2024 and we are truly looking forward to delighting audiences with our year-long programme of concerts. The Gala Concert is indeed the centrepiece of our year of celebration and, if you can only make one occasion, make it this one – wonderful music, wonderful musicians, performing the timeless classics of Vivaldi’s Gloria and JS Bach’s Magnificat.

Meet Jamal Sutton, our Musical Director since April 2022. Jamal's passion for choral music has been inspirational for the choir. We are proud to sing under his highly musical, gentle, yet ambitious leadership.

Southern Voices is an auditioned chamber choir of about 35 voices, based in Winchester, England. The choir was founded in 1984 and is now directed by Jamal Sutton. It has gained a reputation for performing challenging and original programmes to a high standard.
